While some celebs have managed to keep their love children a secret from the tabloids, someone always spills the paternal beans eventually. It might not happen for years (or even after the celeb dies, as you’ll see in the case below), but eventually the truth always manages to make headlines and blow everyone’s mind.

1) Eddie Murphy

In 2006, Eddie Murphy had a brief affair with Melanie Brown, better known as “Scary Spice” of the Spice Girls. This resulted in the birth of Angel Iris, and shortly afterwards a paternity test was done which confirmed that Murphy was in fact the father. A legal battle between Brown and Murphy ended with Murphy being ordered to pay millions in child support.

2) Arnold Schwarzenegger

The bodybuilder\actor\Governator managed to keep the existence of his illegitimate son a secret from the media and even his own wife, Maria Shriver, for many years. But the truth was revealed in 2010 when Shriver confronted Mildred Baena, a former maid of Arnold’s, about the paternity of her teenage son. She confessed the truth, which Arnold himself later confirmed: they had an affair in the late ‘90s which led to the birth of their son, Joseph Baena.
In a statement, Arnold said: “There are no excuses, and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.”

3) Eric Clapton

In 1985, while married to Pattie Boyd, Eric Clapton had an affair with studio sound assistant Yvonne Kelly. Nine months later, Kelly gave birth to their daughter, Ruth, who was a secret to both the public and Clapton’s wife, who eventually divorced him.
However, it appears that Clapton and his daughter have managed to maintain a close relationship. The legendary rocker even walked Ruth down the aisle at her wedding in 2011. Afterwards, he treated the wedding party to an hour-long performance.

4) Tom Jones

The legendary crooner has enjoyed dozens of top 40 hits and even earned himself knighthood, but he apparently shouldn’t expect to see a “Father of the Year” nomination anytime soon. Katherine Berkery had a four-day fling with Jones in 1987, which produced Jon Berkley. Jones initially denied paternity, but when a DNA test proved otherwise, he agreed to provide for Jon financially until he turned 18. The singer of “What’s New Pussycat” didn’t publicly acknowledge Jon’s existence until an interview in 2011.

5) Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris’ secret daughter was so secret that she was even a secret to Chuck Norris himself. Dina was born nine months after the tough guy icon and martial arts actor had a brief fling with a woman named Johanna back in 1962. He first learned of his daughter’s existence when he received a note from her sixteen years later. Norris agreed to meet with her. As he says in his autobiography “I didn’t need DNA or blood tests. I went to her, wrapped my arms around her, and we both started crying. At that moment, it was as if I had known her all my life.”

6) Dan Marino

Last year NFL legend Dan Marino shocked when he revealed that he conceived a child in 2004 with a CBS sports analyst while he was still married to his wife. The woman, 35-year-old Donna Savattere, gave birth to Marino’s seventh child, a girl, in 2005. In a statement Marino said, “I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then. We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved.”

7) Clark Gable

Golden era actor Clark Gable managed to keep his love child a secret even decades after his death. In a 1992 memoir Judy Lewis revealed that she was conceived by Gable and Loretta Young on the set of the film The Call of The Wild. Lewis claims she only met her father once, at the age of 15. But she didn’t even learn that he was her father until the night before her wedding when she was 23 years old.

8) Jude Law

Jude Law, who separated from wife Sienna Miller in 2006, conceived a child with model Samantha Burke while filming Sherlock Holmes in New York. He currently supports little Sophia.

9) Steve Jobs

The late tech visionary and founder of Apple Inc. became a father before he was the icon of Silicon Valley. His first serious girlfriend became pregnant in 1977, but he initially claimed he didn’t believe he was the father. He only started supporting his first child after a court-ordered blood test put those denials to rest.

10) Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher, singer in the rock band Oasis, fathered a child with Liza Ghorbani. Though he has never confirmed this fact, the New York Post reported that a DNA test revealed that Gallagher is the father of Ghorbani’s daughter and that he attempted to get her to sign a confidentiality agreement to keep certain personal details of their relationship out of public view.

11) Bow Wow

The rapper formerly known as Lil Bow Wow revealed in 2011 that he had a child, which he had deliberately chosen to keep secret from the public. “I waited so long to tell y’all the truth because I was nervous on how y’all would look at me,” he said in a letter to fans on his website.

12) Mick Jagger

Mick Jagger, father of six children and two grandchildren, admitted to having yet another child after DNA tests confirmed that he was the father of Brazilian model Luciana Morad’s son Lucas. Jagger agreed to pay a flat $5 million to Morad, $25,000 a month in child support and a Manhattan, N.Y, pad estimated at around $2 million.

13) Gavin Rossdale

In 2004, Daisy Lowe was shocked when she learned at the age of 14 via DNA test that Bush frontman, Gavin Rossdale, was her father. While the revelation has apparently harmed Rossdale’s relationship with Lowe’s mother, it apparently created the opportunity for the father and daughter to get to know each other. “‘Gavin told me if Daisy[...] had a DNA test, he’d never speak to me again and he’s kept his word,” Daisy’s mother Pearl Lowe said. “I lost him as a friend, but Daisy has a relationship with him, which is great.”

14) John Edwards

The would-be Democratic Presidential nominee stepped into a huge political scandal when an extramarital affair led to the birth of his daughter by campaign videographer Rielle Hunter. Though he denied the accusations at first, he came clean last year when the girl was 2 years old. “It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter,” he said in a statement. “And hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me.”
